Job summary

Marathon Health is hiring an experienced Medical Assistant in Illinois to join our primary care team. The MA will work closely with a primary care physician to deliver patient care and provide an exceptional guest experience, serving as both medical receptionist and clinical support.

Responsibilities include vitals, blood draws, injections, immunizations, front desk duties, and coordinating referrals while maintaining accurate medical records. CPR/BLS certification is required at start date.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care.
• Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program.
• National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date.
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to room and ensures exam rooms are stocked.
• Reviews previous medical information and gathers updated health information for provider.
• Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, assist with procedures.
• Prepares and administers medications and immunizations per orders.
• Partners with care team to develop patient plan of care and address gaps in care.
• Front desk duties: scheduling, records requests, referrals, check-in/out.
• Records data in medical records per guidelines.
• Processes test results and communicates results to patients as directed.
• Participates in outreach to patients to drive engagement.
• Maintains clinical and office supplies and equipment.

Skills

Medical Assistant experience

CPR/BLS certification

Phlebotomy experience (preferred)

Education
