Job summary

Marathon Health in Logansport, IN is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our care team. You will support a primary care physician and ensure excellent patient care and guest experience; you will function as both medical receptionist and clinical assistant.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year MA experience, formal MA training, and CPR/BLS. We offer competitive benefits, 15 days PTO, paid holidays, and scrub allowances; location is onsite with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program.
• National or state MA certification or registration is strongly preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date.
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to room and ensures exam rooms are stocked and clean.
• Reviews previous medical information and updates health data for the provider.
• Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, assist with procedures.
• Work with contracted labs for additional tests.
• Prepares and administers medications and immunizations as directed.
• Partners with care team to develop patient plans and address gaps in care.
• Front desk duties: scheduling, medical records requests, referrals, check-in/out.
• Records data in the medical record according to guidelines.
• Process test results and provide timely results to patients.
• Outreach to patients to drive engagement among eligible groups.
• Maintain clinical supplies and equipment for treatments.
