Medical Assistant - Receptionist Internal Medicine

Ashburn VA

Pay From: $19 Per Hour

MUST:

1. The qualified Medical Assistant - Receptionist must have the following experience:

• 3+ years of experience as a medical assistant in an internal medicine/primary care setting
• Registered or Certified is preferred or must have a medical assistant diploma
• Strong clinical and documentation skills
• Administering injections
• Comfortable calling patients and relaying medical information
• EKG's

Experience assisting with clinical exams and procedures

Strong communication skills and clinical knowledge and abilities

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Strong computer/EMR skills

Experience checking patients in and out, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance

Knowledge of population health

Scheduling and obtaining prior authorizations

Comfortable working in a fast-paced practice site

DUTIES:

• Room patients and take vitals
• Administer injections and draw blood
• Perform EKGs
• Assist with exams and procedures
• Enter patient information into EMR system
• Schedule appointments, check patients in, and verify insurance
• Keep exam rooms clean and stocked
• Ensure all labs and reports are entered into patient charts
• Provide patient education
• Obtain pre-authorizations
• Schedule procedures
• Process prescriptions
