The Medical Assistant Float assists physicians in assessing, examining, and treating patients. Responsibilities include managing patient flow and performing diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and vitals. Acts as a liaison to physicians to ensure patient satisfaction. Maintains and orders supplies for their area as needed. As a Float resource, the incumbent is required to regularly work at 5+ different locations within their assigned area.

Job Description

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Familiarity with medical office procedures.

Education & Experience:

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of hire. BLS through the American Red Cross may be acceptable at some Pennsylvania practice locations.
• Experience in physician office or other healthcare setting preferred.
• For NJ Only: Graduate of an accredited post-secondary medical assisting education program which includes, at a minimum, 330 hours of instruction and training in administering intramuscular and subcutaneous injections.
• For internal Einstein applicants only: Medical Assistant certification is not required if a current Einstein employee in a Medical Assistant role with a hire date prior to 7/1/2024 transfers within Einstein entities.
