Job description

Medical Assistant - Internal Medicine

Location: Rockville, MD

Pay: From $19 per hour

Must Have:

• 3+ years of experience as a medical assistant in an internal medicine setting
• Registered or Certified preferred, or must have a medical assistant diploma
• Strong clinical and documentation skills
• Experience administering injections
• Comfortable calling patients and relaying medical information
• Experience with EKGs
• Assisting with clinical exams and procedures
• Strong communication skills and clinical knowledge
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong computer/EMR skills
• Knowledge of population health
• Scheduling and obtaining prior authorizations

Responsibilities:

• Room patients and take vitals
• Administer injections and draw blood
• Perform EKGs and assist with exams and procedures
• Enter patient information into EMR system
• Keep exam rooms clean and stocked
• Ensure labs and reports are entered into patient charts
• Provide patient education
• Obtain pre-authorizations and schedule procedures
• Process prescriptions
