Job description

Medical Assistant - Internal Medicine

Location: Arlington, VA

Pay: From $20 Per Hour

Must Have:

1. 3+ years of experience as a medical assistant in an internal medicine setting
2. Registered or Certified preferred, or must have a medical assistant diploma
3. Strong clinical skills and phlebotomy experience
4. Experience administering injections and performing EKGs
5. Experience assisting with clinical exams and procedures
6. Strong communication skills and clinical knowledge
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
8. Strong computer/EMR skills
9. Knowledge of population health
10. Experience scheduling and obtaining prior authorizations

Responsibilities:

1. Room patients and take vitals
2. Administer injections and draw blood
3. Perform EKGs
4. Assist with exams and procedures
5. Enter patient information into EMR system
6. Keep exam rooms clean and stocked
7. Ensure labs and reports are entered into patient charts
8. Provide patient education
9. Obtain pre-authorizations
10. Schedule procedures
11. Process prescriptions
