Job description

Primary Care Medical Assistant

40 hours per week, Days

Location: Washington, MO

Overview:

• Prepares patients for visits by completing the Advanced Standard room process, including:
  1. Entering the chief complaint
  2. Taking vital signs, reviewing patient history and allergies
  3. Completing medication reconciliation
  4. Working with the Encounter Guide to close care gaps (e.g., fall risk, screenings)
  5. Rechecking elevated blood pressures
  6. Documenting in Epic for preventative visits
• Assists with in-office testing (blood draws, EKGs, oxygen studies, point of care testing)
• Administers vaccines and injections within scope of practice
• Schedules follow-up appointments per office policy
• Collaborates with providers and care team to coordinate care

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Certification: BLS certification within 90 days of hire

Preferred Experience: 6 months clinical healthcare experience, preferably in primary care

Additional Roles:

Primary Care - Certified Medical Assistant:

Same education as above. Must have active Medical Assistant certification (RMA, CCMA, CMA) and BLS certification within 90 days.

LPN Qualifications:

Diploma in Practical Nursing and active LPN licensure. Preferred 6 months clinical experience in primary care.
