Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical operations under provider supervision. You will assist in coordinating patient care, prep exam rooms, obtain vitals, document history and tobacco/medication screening, and help with back-office testing.

The role requires completing a Medical Assistant program or high school/GED, with certification within 120 days if not already certified.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or MA program completion.
• Certification training/attempt within 30 days of hire and certification within 120 days if MA program completed within last 5 years.
• Associates degree preferred; training as MA is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision using a team-based approach.
• Prepare and room patients according to workflows; obtain vitals and document history.
• Screen tobacco use and medications; administer and document meds per policy.
• Perform back-office testing and assist with examinations/procedures.
• Enter data in EHR and handle clerical duties; may float between locations.
