Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the clinical team in Pittsburgh. You will assist with coordinating patient care under the provider, prepare and room patients, and document vitals, history, and screenings in the EHR.

You may perform back office testing and assist with examinations and procedures, with potential duties as a scribe after training. The role requires a Medical Assistant program completion or HS diploma with certification within 120 days, CPR

Qualifications

• Minimum High School / GED or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Certification within 120 days of hire if not yet certified at hire.
• Preferred Associate's Degree.
• CPR – American Heart Association required.
• Background clearances as per policy (Act 34/Act 33/Act 73/FBI).

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating patient care under supervision of the provider.
• Prepare and room patients according to workflow.
• Obtain vital signs and document patient information and history.
• Screen for tobacco use and medications; administer screening tools as needed.
• Perform back office testing and assist with examinations and procedures.
• Document in the EHR accurately and maintain supplies in clinical areas.
• May function as a scribe with additional training; may float between locations.
