Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care within a team-based clinical setting. You will prepare exam rooms, take vital signs, document patient information in the electronic health record, and assist providers during examinations and procedures.

The role requires completing a Medical Assistant program or corresponding education, with certification pursued within set timelines. Experience with EHR systems and strong teamwork is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School / GED or completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Certification training and/or testing within 120 days of hire if criteria are met.
• Preferred Associate’s Degree.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients; obtain vital signs and document information.
• Review and update medication lists in the EHR; assist with exams and procedures.
• May assist with scribing and follow up with patients as directed.
