The position requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited MA program or equivalent experience. BLS certification is required or obtained within 45 days where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or DD214 clinical in lieu of program.
• BLS certification required (AHA) or within 45 days.
• No experience required.
• Proficient in communication and computer skills; patient-focused.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, med history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs venipuncture and lab prep; POCT per standing orders.
• Administers meds and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Handles patient messaging, referrals, scheduling, and insurance authorizations.
• Cross-trained for relevant duties within department.
• Maintains clean, stocked work environment and equipment.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate patient care and team communication.
