Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training per DD214 in lieu of a formal medical assistant program or EMT.
• For IL/WI Divisions: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vitals, med reconciliation, medical history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT, CLIA waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Handles referrals, scheduling, and insurance authorizations; patient messaging.
• Cross trains to assist with specialty duties as needed.
• Maintains clean work environment and equipment readiness.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care across patient life span.
