Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or military clinical training per DD214 in lieu of a formal MA program or EMT.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required depending on division.
• Ability to perform clinical skills within MA scope of practice with demonstrated competency.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies while providing patient care.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks including vitals, history, allergy review, and screenings.
• Assists providers with procedures and performs lab duties including venipuncture and POCT.
• Administers medications and vaccines following the rights of administration.
• Completes tasks such as refills, insurance authorizations, scheduling, and referrals.
• Maintains clean work environment and ensures equipment is in working order.
• Demonstrates effective communication and escalation when needed.
