Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs or NPs with patient care, room preparation and clerical duties at our New Jersey sites. You will help manage patient flow, document vitals and allergies in the EHR, and assist with orders, referrals, and scheduling.

This role requires a high school diploma and completion of an accredited medical assistant program, with 0–1 year of related experience (2–4 years preferred) and BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program, required.
• 0-1 year related work experience, required. 2-4 years related work experience, preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 30 days of hire, required
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, required
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner, required
• Basic proficiency in computer use, required

Responsibilities

• Prepares the examination room and escorts patient into the room.
• Maintains efficient patient flow and prepares information for visits.
• Documents vitals and allergies in EHR; manages orders and referrals.
• Schedules appointments and handles calls/messages.
• Stocks examination rooms and maintains supplies as assigned.
• Assists in transition of care to UCC/Hospital.
• Provides scribing services as needed.
