Job summary

VillageMD in New Jersey is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and advanced practice providers. The MA will manage patient flow, rooming, vital signs, and documentation in the EHR, while coordinating referrals and scheduling.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, completed medical assistant program, and BLS. One to four years of related experience preferred; proficiency with EHR and PMS is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program.
• 0-1 year related work experience; 2-4 years preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 30 days of hire.
• English communication ability required.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks.
• Basic proficiency in computer use.

Responsibilities

• Prepares examination rooms and assists in patient flow.
• Maintains efficient patient flow and accurate schedule management.
• Prepares patient information for visits and ensures proper readiness.
• Documents vitals, allergies, medications in EHR accurately.
• Enter orders and schedule appointments in PMS and EHR.
• Provide referrals and consult orders in PMS and EHR.
• Adheres to universal precautions when administering meds.
• Demonstrates flexibility with varying work schedules.
