Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs or NPs with patient care, clerical duties, and smooth patient flow. The MA will prepare exam rooms, document vital signs in the EHR, schedule and manage appointments, and assist with orders and referrals.

Travel to satellite offices may be required; strong communication and basic computer skills are essential. This role emphasizes accurate record keeping, adherence to safety protocols, and collaboration within a multi-site care

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program.
• 0-1 year related work experience required; 2-4 years preferred.
• BLS certification required or within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to communicate in English (oral and written).
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks.
• Basic proficiency in computer use.

Responsibilities

• Prepares examination room and escorts patient in. Cleans examination room after visit.
• Maintains efficient patient flow.
• Prepares information needed for patient visit and supports visit.
• Documents vital signs in EHR (BP, temp, pulse, height/weight).
• Enter orders and schedule appointments in PMS/EHR and provide referrals.
• Provides scribing services and supports care transitions as needed.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within 30 days of hire

English communication
