Job summary

VillageMD seeks a Medical Assistant in New Jersey to support physicians, PAs, and NPs with patient care, clerical tasks, and patient flow. Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, updating EHRs, and assisting with procedures.

Requires a high school diploma and completion of a medical assistant or phlebotomy program, with BLS certification and English proficiency. Applicants should have 0–1 year of related experience, strong organizational skills, and basic computer proficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program is required.
• 0-1 year related work experience is required; 2-4 years preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 30 days of hire is required.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, required.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner, required.
• Basic proficiency in computer use, required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares examination room and escorts patient in.
• Maintains efficient patient flow and prepares information for visits.
• Communicates and provides care considering patient age, culture, and needs.
• Answers calls and takes accurate messages; schedules appointments.
• Stocks examination rooms and maintains supplies.
• Enter orders and schedule appointments in PMS and EHR.
• Provide referrals and consult orders as needed.
• Adheres to universal safety precautions when administering medications.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program

0-1 year related work experience

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Ability to communicate in English

Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks

Basic proficiency in computer use
