Job summary

Vail Health is seeking a healthcare support professional to independently assist providers and clinical teams with patient care, record-keeping, and administrative duties that support efficient patient management.

You will handle patient calls, portal messages, and refill requests, ensuring timely, accurate documentation in the EHR and clear communication with care teams. This role emphasizes HIPAA compliance and adherence to Just Culture and values.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, medical equipment, HIPAA compliance, and OSHA rules and regulations required.
• 2 years of experience with applicable patient care and administrative duties preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fields patient phone calls and voicemails promptly and in a professional manner.
• Addresses patient portal and EHR messages through the drop box within an established timeframe.
• Communicates with provider or team member regarding patient questions and concerns.
• Receives and processes patient refill requests based on appropriate workflow and qualifying factors.
• If refill cannot be processed, forwards to the provider with necessary information.
• Manages provider’s patient portal messages and sorts them within the EHR.
• Ensures accurate documentation in the patient’s EHR and closes the loop with the patient.
• Communicates with the clinical care team as needed.
• Models Just Culture and organizational values; HIPAA compliant.
