Job summary

Vail Health in Colorado is seeking a patient services professional to support providers and clinical teams with patient care, maintain accurate patient records, and perform essential administrative duties.

You will handle patient calls, respond to portal messages, process refill requests, and ensure proper documentation in the EHR while collaborating with care teams and upholding HIPAA standards. This is a PRN position with wellbeing funds and 403(b) eligibility.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA compliance.
• 2 years of experience with patient care and administrative duties.

Responsibilities

• Fields patient phone calls and voicemails promptly and professionally.
• Addresses patient portal and EHR messages within an acceptable timeframe.
• Communicates with providers or team members regarding patient questions and concerns.
• Receives and processes refill requests based on appropriate workflow.
• If refill cannot be processed, routes to the provider with necessary information.
• Manages provider’s patient portal messages and sorts to appropriate inboxes in the EHR.
• Ensures accuracy and proper documentation in the patient’s EHR.
• Collaborates with the clinical care team and upholds Just Culture principles.
• Complies with HIPAA requirements.
