UnitedHealth Group's WellMed division is hiring a Medical Assistant to support patient care under supervision of a provider. You will perform routine MA duties, assist with exams, collect specimens, administer non-intravenous meds, and help keep the clinical area organized and safe.

The role emphasizes accurate charting, infection control, and respectful patient interaction; requires a high school diploma, MA certification, and BLS, plus basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or ability to obtain within 180 days.
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers at time of hire or within 30 days.
• Basic computer literacy with intermediate Excel skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to react calmly in emergencies.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties within the scope of a Medical Assistant's practice, including wound care and specimen collection.
• Rooms patients and prepares them for examination.
• Documents patient care accurately in the medical record.
• Coordinates patient care as directed by physicians and policies.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and respectful care.
• Organizes exam rooms and sterilizes instruments.
• Follows Standard Delegation of Orders (SDO).
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
