Job summary

WellMed is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical support and patient care under supervision. You will prepare exam rooms, collect specimens, and assist physicians while maintaining infection control and patient confidentiality.

The role requires certification, BLS, and ability to travel within the market. Strong customer service and communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or ability to obtain within 180 days of employment.
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers at time of hire or within 30 days.
• Basic computer literacy with intermediate Excel skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to travel frequently within assigned market.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties within the Medical Assistant scope, including basic clinical tasks and specimen collection.
• Rooms patients and prepares for examination.
• Records and coordinates patient care documentation.
• Supports physicians and clinical staff under supervision.
• Maintains infection control and confidentiality; completes mandatory training.
