Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a clinical setting. The MA will assist physicians and nursing staff, perform basic procedures, collect specimens, document care, and maintain a clean, organized environment. The role requires a current MA certification or the ability to obtain within 180 days, and BLS at hire or soon after.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Current Medical Assistant certification or ability to obtain within 180 days of employment.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers at time of hire or within 30 days.
• Basic computer literacy with intermediate Excel skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to travel frequently within assigned market.
• Valid driver’s license in state of work.

Responsibilities

• Organizes the clinical environment and supports patient care under supervision.
• Assists physicians and nursing staff with duties and procedures.
• Records patient care documentation accurately and timely.
• Coordinates patient care per policies and physician directives.
• Ensures patient confidentiality and delivers courteous service.
• Maintains clean and stocked exam/treatment rooms and sterilizes instruments.
• Performs standard infection control precautions and data collection as needed.
• Supports and follows Standard Delegation of Orders (SDO).
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
