Ascension Sacred Heart Medical Group - Gulf Coast Orthopedic Specialist in Pensacola, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient flow in the Ortho Hand department. You will greet patients, take vitals, review histories, and assist providers during exams and procedures in a fast paced, patient‑centered environment.

You’ll manage administrative tasks like charting, referrals, and prior authorizations while maintaining a clean, safe treatment area.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Drive efficiency by managing critical administrative workflows, including charting, addressing patient questions, and processing referrals and prior authorizations.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Preferred Credential(s):
  • Certified Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). Nat'l Medical Assistant (MA) Certification - CMA (Cert. Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant)/AAMA Cert. (American Association of Medical Assistants). NCCT, AAMA, or AMT are acceptable certification sites. Completion of Basic Machine Operators (BMO) cert. preferred. Current registration with State of FL as a BMO Operator preferred.
  • Medical Assistant.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Additional Preferences

• 1 year of medical assistant experience.
• Medical assistant education and training.
