Job summary

Ascension Medical Clinic in Pensacola, FL is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support the OBGYN team on day shifts in a full-time role. You will interview patients, take vital signs, document charts, assist with physician-ordered treatments, and prepare examination rooms.

This position requires an active BLS within 30 days and a high school diploma or equivalent (1 year of related experience acceptable).

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification required within 30 days of hire.
• AAMA Medical Assistant credential preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent with 1 year related experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patients' charts.
• Assist with treatments ordered by physician under supervision.
• Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Perform basic clerical duties including answering the phone and maintaining records.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.
• Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Additional Preferences

• At least one year of experience in a Medical Clinic or Medical Group setting.
• Demonstrated experience with patient rooming procedures.
