Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Medical Group in Pensacola, FL seeks a Medical Assistant for the Primary Care team. This full-time day-shift role entails greeting patients, obtaining vitals and medical history, assisting providers, documenting visits, and coordinating referrals.

You will support test result communication, maintain clean rooms, and drive efficient workflow across front-office and clinical tasks while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider required within 1 month of hire, per policy.
• AAMA Medical Assistant credential preferred.
• Edu/employment: High School equivalency or 1 year relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Update patients on test results and discuss health questions as directed.

How you'll make an impact in this role

• Manage the patient journey by greeting patients, taking vitals, collecting medical history, and proactively assisting providers during examinations and procedures.
• Provide clear, supportive follow-up by updating patients on test results and discussing health-related questions as directed by the provider.
• Maintain a safe and pristine environment by cleaning and preparing treatment rooms.
• Drive efficiency by managing critical administrative workflows, including charting, addressing patient questions, and processing referrals and prior authorizations.

What Minimum Requirements You'll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.
• Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Additional Preferences

• 1 year of medical assistant experience.
• Medical assistant education and training.
