Job summary

Ascension is hiring for a Medical Assistant in Niceville, FL. The role involves greeting patients, taking vital signs, preparing exam rooms, and supporting clinical and administrative tasks under provider supervision.

The position requires BLS within 30 days of hire and a Medical Assistant credential or equivalent experience, with preferred clinic setting experience.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Welcoming and interviewing patients, accurately measuring and documenting vital signs, and preparing examination rooms to ensure a smooth, comfortable visit.
• Assisting with treatments as directed and supervised by the providers
• Performing select clinical duties and providing essential administrative support, including managing patient records, answering calls, and handling necessary charting.
• Documenting provider-patient encounters, meticulously listing diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Medical Assistant obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Additional Preferences

• At least one year of experience in a Medical Clinic or Medical Group setting.
• Demonstrated experience with patient rooming procedures.
