Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency certificate or Medical Assistant Certification.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in a clinical or customer service setting as determined by the department.

Responsibilities

• Provides efficient flow of patients to optimize appointment availability.
• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms according to policy and procedures.
• Prepare patient for examination; measures vital signs (BP, pulse, weight, height).
• Assist clinicians with routine clinical procedures and tests specific to the department.
• Ensures EMR is updated with medical information and demographics.
• Keeps patients informed of visit status and delays.
• Reconcile medications and set up pending refills; discontinue inactive prescriptions.
• Assist in resolving minor patient concerns and complaints.
• Orders and performs point-of-care testing (waived tests).
