Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, is hiring a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in exam rooms, coordinate pre-visit work, and ensure EMR updates. You will assist with routine procedures and testing, contributing to a smooth patient flow.

The role requires a high school diploma or MA certification, with 1+ year experience in clinical or customer service settings. EPIC EMR experience is preferred. This is a full-time position in eastern Massachusetts with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency and/or Medical Assistant Certification.
• Associate degree in medical assisting or graduation from a MA certification program.
• Experience with EPIC EMR software is preferred.
• 1+ year in a clinical or customer service setting is common.

Responsibilities

• Provides efficient flow of patients to optimize appointment availability.
• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares them for examination.
• Measures vital signs and assists with routine clinical procedures.
• Maintains EMR accuracy with updated medical information and tests.
• Assists clinicians with tests and notes pre-visit testing requirements.
• Orders and performs point-of-care waived testing (e.g., strep, urine, hCG, glucose).

Education
