Job summary

UnitedHealth Group’s Atrius Health, a large primary care network, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in exam rooms and perform routine procedures. The role is based in Watertown, MA and is full-time, 40 hours per week, with EMR documentation and patient coordination.

The ideal candidate will have a HS diploma or MA certification, EPIC EMR experience, and 1+ year of clinical or customer service experience. Pay ranges with benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency certificate from an accredited institution or governmental unit or a Medical Assistant Certification.
• Associate degree in medical assisting or graduate of medical assistant certification program.
• Experience typically acquired through 1+ years of experience in a clinical or customer service setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides efficient flow of patients to optimize appointment availability.
• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms according to policy and procedures.
• Prepare patient for examination; measures vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, weight, height).
• Assist clinicians with routine clinical procedures and/or additional tests specific to the department; advise patients of prep or pre-visit testing required.
• Ensure EMR is updated with medical information including recent tests and consultations; verify demographics, medications, allergies, and complaints.
