Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in alignment with the MA scope of practice. The role includes rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, history taking, medication reconciliation, and performing CLIA-waived lab tests under supervision.

Responsibilities also cover assisting providers with procedures, administering vaccines when ordered, and ensuring a clean, organized patient care area while promoting effective communication within the team.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an accredited Medical Assistant program or military clinical training per DD214.
• Two years of experience in a clinical practice as a Medical Assistant.
• Current Basic Life Support certification for certain divisions or settings.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follow policies.
• Perform vital signs, medical history, medication reconciliation, and screenings.
• Assist provider with procedures and perform lab duties per CLIA waivers.
• Administer medications and vaccines following the rights of administration.
• Maintain instrument sterilization, clean work areas, and proper equipment functioning.
• Support training onboarding of teammates and participate in committees.
