IU Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care under supervision, providing direct patient care and clinical direction in line with organizational standards.

Responsibilities include ensuring complete orders, smooth patient flow, basic lab work, patient instruction, and handling registration, scheduling, and front office duties. May precept MA team members or externs as requested by leadership.

Formación

• 0-2 years of relevant experience.
• New hires and promotions after Oct 12, 2026 require graduation from a Medical Assistant program.
• Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA.
• Knowledge of standard laboratory and medical procedures.
• Knowledge of insurance plans and third-party payers.
• Must be able to master standard clinical competencies per current policy and checklists.
• Basic math and accurate data collection/entry skills.
• Must meet the technical and physical standards.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Performs duties associated with direct patient care and clinical direction.
• Assures completeness of ordered procedures and treatments and smooth patient flow.
• Performs registration and scheduling activities per procedures.
• Maintains EHR files and performs general front office functions as needed.
• May precept MA team members or MA externs as requested by leadership.

Educación

High School Diploma or equivalent

Graduate of Medical Assistant program

AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Workers certification
