Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support clinic operations. You will escort patients, record vitals, perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care tests, and assist with injections and exams under clinician supervision.

Responsibilities include reviewing labs, communicating findings to the team, and ensuring rooms are prepared for patient care. A HS diploma and MA credential are required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS/HS certification required or within 3 months of hire.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by MA health dept.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and record vital signs.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care tests.
• Administer non-intravenous injections as directed.
• Assist in routine physical examinations or clinical procedures.
• Review lab results and notify physicians of abnormalities.
• Communicate observations promptly to clinicians and prepare rooms.
