Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support providers in an ambulatory clinic. You will take vitals, perform EKGs and POC tests, assist with injections, and help with routine exams to ensure smooth patient flow.

This role requires a High School Diploma, MA credential, and BLS/HS certification. A $3,000 signing bonus is available; typical schedule is 40 hours weekly, with day shifts and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heart Saver (HS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Medical Assistant credential, approved by the Massachusetts Department of Health (ARMA, NHA, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination rooms and record vital signs.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy and Point of Care tests.
• May prepare, document and administer non-intravenous injections.
• Assist in routine physical examinations or clinical procedures.
• Review laboratory results and notify physicians of abnormal results.

Education

BLS/Heart Saver certification (American Heart Association)

Medical Assistant credential (MA Dept of Health approved)
