Job summary

CommuniCare Health Center Careers is seeking a Medical Assistant to support front and back office operations in a busy clinic. You will assist with injections, EKGs, screenings, and patient communication, ensuring smooth daily workflows and high-quality care.

The role requires a high school diploma and MA experience or MA certification. EMR proficiency and BLS certification are preferred, with some travel to other clinic sites possible. Hours and locations may change to meet clinic needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year experience as Medical Assistant or MA certification/diploma
• EMR/EHR experience preferred
• Experience in primary health care setting preferred
• Knowledgeable with personal computers
• BLS certification
• Willingness to travel to other clinic sites
• Hours/locations may change

Responsibilities

• Assists with front and back office day-to-day operations and referrals coordination.
• Administers injections and assists with non-invasive procedures (EKG, vision/hearing screens).
• Obtains patient history and vital signs and documents quality metrics for audits.
• Maintains inventory and ensures equipment calibration and cleanliness.
• Registers patients and updates demographics; verifies insurance; posts encounters.
• Performs end-of-day reconciliation and secures cash deposits.
• Prepares next day clinic with chart prep and pre-registration; screens program eligibility.
• Provides exceptional customer service and assists other departments as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
