Job summary

Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care in Northern Virginia is hiring a Medical Assistant for float coverage. The role supports clinical and front-desk operations, ensuring efficient patient flow and a compassionate patient experience.

The position requires a high school diploma, at least 1 year of MA experience, and a current BLS certification. Flexible shifts and comprehensive benefits are provided in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• Minimum 1 year Medical Assistant experience (required)
• BLS certification required at time of hire (AHA/ARC)
• CPOE certification within 2 weeks of start date

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect demographic, insurance, and eligibility information
• Process co-pays and assist with scheduling
• Measure vitals and perform point-of-care testing (flu, strep, UA, EKG, pregnancy)
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for lab analysis
• Maintain exam rooms and inventory; support front desk duties
• Document accurately in the medical record and ensure patient flow
