Job summary

Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical and front office operations in a fast-paced urgent care setting in the Northern Virginia area. You will work with providers to ensure efficient patient flow and a welcoming experience for every patient.

The role requires 1 year of MA experience, High School Diploma, and BLS certification, with opportunities for growth and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and incentive

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required (minimum).
• Minimum of 1 year Medical Assistant experience is required.
• BLS certification is required at time of hire; obtained through AHA or ARC.
• Certification within 12 months of hire if not yet certified; CMA, CCMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA accepted.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect demographic, insurance, and eligibility information.
• Process co-pays and assist with scheduling.
• Prepare patients for examination and document in the medical record.
• Measure and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, height, weight).
• Perform point-of-care testing (flu, strep, UA, EKG, pregnancy testing).
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
• Prepare, clean, and stock exam rooms; monitor inventory.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record system.
• Support front desk tasks and patient communication.
• Make follow-up calls as needed.
• Complete opening/closing duties, including cash handling and reconciliation.
• Perform equipment checks and quality control.
