Job summary

Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care, LLC is seeking a Medical Assistant - Float to support clinical and front-office operations across urgent care centers. You will assist providers, manage patient flow, and ensure accurate documentation while floating between locations.

The role offers exposure to both clinical and administrative functions in a fast-paced urgent care setting with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year Medical Assistant experience required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect demographic, insurance, and eligibility information.
• Process co-pays and assist with patient scheduling.
• Prepare patients for examinations and document medical histories.
• Obtain and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, height, weight).
• Perform point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, EKGs, pregnancy).
• Communicate test results to providers.
• Perform venipuncture and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Support front desk operations, patient communication, and phone management.
• Open and close clinic duties including cash handling and reconciliation.
