Job summary

Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care in Northern Virginia seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinical and front desk operations, delivering high-quality care and a welcoming patient experience. You will work with providers, perform point-of-care testing, take vital signs, handle registrations, manage schedules, and maintain accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required at time of hire (AHA or ARC).
• CPOE certification must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date.
• Certification options include CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect demographic, insurance, and eligibility information.
• Process co-pays and assist with scheduling.
• Prepare patients for examination and document in medical records.
• Measure and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, height, weight).
• Perform point-of-care testing and report results to providers.
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
• Maintain exam rooms and stock supplies; monitor inventory.
• Support front desk tasks and patient communication.
