Job summary

Atrius Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians with routine clinical procedures and exams in Massachusetts locations. You will assist with pre-visit work, prep patients, and ensure EMR documentation is accurate and up to date.

The role emphasizes patient flow, clear communication, and coordination of lab tests and point-of-care testing. Prior MA certification and EMR experience are preferred; BLS/ACLS may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency certification.
• Associate degree in medical assisting or completion of MA program.
• Certification as Medical Assistant or equivalent.
• Experience with EMR systems and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient patient flow and greet/escort to exam rooms.
• Prepare patients for examination and measure vital signs.
• Assist clinicians with routine procedures and tests.
• Update EMR with recent tests, medications, allergies, and diagnoses.
• Communicate appointment status and delays to patients.
• Reconcile medications and manage refills.
• Address patient concerns as appropriate.
• Order and perform point-of-care waived testing (strep, urine, hCG, glucose).
