Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians with routine procedures and tests in the exam room at our eastern Massachusetts sites. You will advise patients on preparation and ensure pre-visit work is completed.

You will measure vital signs, update the EMR, and help maintain patient flow and accurate records. The hourly pay ranges from $17.71 to $27.41, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency certificate or Medical Assistant Certification.
• Clinical or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides efficient flow of patients to optimize appointment availability.
• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms.
• Prepare patients for examination; measures vital signs.
• Assist clinicians with routine procedures and tests; inform patients of pre-visit testing.
• Update EMR with medical information and demographics; ensure accuracy.
• Maintain patient communication about visit status and delays.
• Reconcile medications and manage refills.
• Assist with patient concerns and questions as appropriate.
• Order and perform waived point-of-care testing (e.g., strep, urine, hCG, glucose).
