Vail Health in Colorado Springs is seeking a medical assistant who will support providers and clinical teams, maintain patient records, and perform administrative tasks to help manage patient care.

You will handle patient calls, patient portal messages, and refill requests within approved workflows, ensure accurate documentation in the EHR, and collaborate with care teams while upholding HIPAA and safety standards.

Competenze

• Minimum 2 years of experience in patient care and administrative duties.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and medical equipment.
• HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules knowledge.
• PRN benefits include wellbeing funds and 403(b) eligibility.

Mansioni

• Fields patient phone calls and voicemails promptly and professionally.
• Addresses patient portal and EHR messages through the drop box within timeframe set by providers.
• Communicates with provider or team member regarding patient questions and concerns.
• Receives patient refill requests and processes appropriately per workflow.
• If refill cannot be processed by the clinical assistant, forwards to provider with needed information.
• Manages provider's patient portal messages and sorts to appropriate inboxes in the EHR.
• Closes loop with patient on requests, questions, results, or concerns.
• Ensures accuracy and proper documentation in the patient’s EHR.
• Communicates with the clinical care team as needed.
• Models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
• Must be HIPAA compliant.
