Job summary

Vail Health Hospital in Colorado seeks an experienced Medical Assistant to support providers and clinical teams, manage patient records, and handle administrative duties essential to patient care. You will respond to calls, manage messages in the EHR, and ensure accurate documentation throughout the patient journey.

The role requires familiarity with medical terminology, HIPAA rules, OSHA guidelines, and at least two years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology, equipment, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules.
• Minimum 2 years of patient care and admin duties experience.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient calls and voicemails promptly and professionally.
• Address portal and EHR messages within established timelines.
• Coordinate with providers on patient questions and concerns.
• Process refill requests based on workflow and qualifying factors.
• Route requests to providers when needed with complete information.
• Manage provider portal messages and organize in the EHR.
• Close the loop with patients on requests, results, and concerns.
• Ensure accuracy and proper documentation in the patient record.
• Communicate with clinical care team as needed.
• Model Just Culture and organizational values.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance in all tasks.
