Job summary

LMH Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and healthcare professionals in delivering primary care. The role includes administrative and clinical tasks, maintaining patient confidentiality and assisting in efficient clinic operation.

Ideal candidates will have CNA or MA program enrollment, EMT experience, and BLS. The position emphasizes teamwork, continuous education, and excellent patient interaction in a community-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Current or previous Kansas CNA certification, or enrollment/completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Active Kansas EMT certification (EMT).
• BLS training upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Updates and files patient medical records and insurance forms as needed.
• Takes medical histories and records vital signs; documents information electronically.
• Explains procedures to patients and prepares them for examination with privacy.
• Collects lab specimens, disposes of contaminated supplies and sterilizes equipment.
• Assists with wound care and cast care.
• Handles correspondence and schedules appointments; arranges hospital and lab services.
• Assists with patient teaching on procedures, tests, medications.
• Maintains smooth flow of patients through the clinic.
• Makes callbacks for patient care and coordinates with pharmacies/insurers.
• Authorizes refills and processes telephone prescriptions when certified.
• Ensures exam rooms are equipped and clean.
• Organizes and prioritizes duties; interacts with patients professionally and empathetically.
• Complies with laws in maintaining patient information and communicates safety concerns.
