Job summary

LMH Health invites applications for a Medical Assistant to support physicians and health care teams in a busy clinic setting. The role emphasizes patient confidentiality, accurate charting, and efficient patient flow throughout weekday operations.

The ideal candidate may hold a Kansas CNA, be enrolled in a Medical Assistant program, or be a certified EMT or nursing student with demonstrated clinical readiness. A strong patient-first approach and BLS certification are valued.

Qualifications

• Required: Kansas CNA; or enrolled/completed Medical Assistant program; or Kansas EMT; or nursing student who completed first semester; or pre-med/pre-dentistry track with dept skills checklist within 90 days; or surgical tech program with checklist within 90 days
• Preferred: CMA/RMA certification; six months clinical experience

Responsibilities

• Update and file patient medical records and insurance forms.
• Take medical histories and vital signs; document using electronic systems.
• Explain procedures and prep patients for examinations while maintaining privacy.
• Collect lab specimens and sterilize instruments.
• Assist with wound and cast care.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate hospital/lab services.
• Assist with patient teaching and ensure smooth clinic flow.
• Handle calls for drug refills and prescriptions as directed.
