LMH Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and other healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality primary care while maintaining patient confidentiality. The role includes administrative and clinical tasks, updating patient records, recording vitals, preparing patients for exams, documenting in electronic systems, and assisting with lab and minor procedures in a busy clinic.

Formación

• Current or prior Kansas CNA certification.
• Enrolled in or completion of Medical Assistant program.
• Active Kansas EMT certification.
• Nursing student in first semester; complete department skills checklist within 90 days of hire.
• Has completed or is enrolled in pre-med/pre-optometry/pre-pa/pre-dentistry; complete department skills checklist within 90 days.
• Completion of accredited surgical technologist program; complete department skills checklist within 90 days.
• BLS upon hire.
• Preferred: Certified/Registered Medical Assistant.
• Six months clinical experience.

Responsabilidades

• Updates and files patient medical records; fill out insurance forms as needed.
• Takes medical histories and records vital signs.
• Documents medical information using electronic systems.
• Explains treatment procedures and prepares patient for examination with privacy.
• Collects and prepares laboratory specimens; sterilizes instruments.
• May assist with wound care and cast care.
• Handles correspondence; schedules appointments; arranges hospital and lab services.
• Assists with simple patient teaching and procedures.
• Maintains smooth flow of patients through the clinic.
• Assists with callbacks to deliver prompt patient care.
• Authorizes drug refills and telephone prescriptions if certified/registered MA.
• Keeps treatment rooms equipped and neat.
• Complies with laws regarding patient information.
• Participates in intra- and inter-departmental committees.
• Performs other duties as needed.
