Job summary

Access Community Health Network (ACCESS) is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a collaborative care team in Chicago. The role includes taking vital signs, performing phlebotomy, administering medications and vaccines, and assisting with on-site procedures.

Responsibilities also include responding to patient questions, scheduling appointments, and reviewing medical records while expanding knowledge through Epic EMR training and clinical mentoring.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program required.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Minimum of one year experience or clinical externship.
• Basic proficiency with EMR (Epic preferred).
• Ability to work some evenings and Saturdays.

Position Summary

• Work in collaboration with a skilled care team that includes dedicated providers, benefits specialists, front desk receptionists, behavioral health consultants and others to provide quality health services and resources to meet our patients’ needs.
• Assist providers with onsite procedures.
• Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and administer medications/vaccines directly to patients.
• Assist patients by responding to questions, returning calls, scheduling appointments and reviewing medical records.
• Continue to grow your knowledge base through extensive clinical training and technical training with Epic, one of the leading Electronic Medical Record Systems globally.

Requirements

• HighSchool diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accreditedprogram
• CPR/Basic Life Support Certification
• Minimum of one (1) year experience or clinical externship
