Job summary

Access Community Health Network in Chicago is seeking a Medical Assistant to support a collaborative care team and ensure quality patient care. The role includes taking vitals, phlebotomy, administering vaccines, and assisting with patient inquiries and scheduling.

Applicants should have a Medical Assistant diploma, CPR/BLS, and experience or externship. Bilingual English/Spanish is required; Epic EMR experience is preferred. Evening and Saturday hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Minimum of one year experience or clinical externship.
• Basic proficiency with EMR (Epic preferred).
• Ability to work some evenings and Saturdays.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a skilled care team to provide quality health services.
• Assist providers with onsite procedures.
• Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy, and administer medications/vaccines.
• Assist patients by answering questions, returning calls, scheduling, and reviewing records.
• Grow knowledge through clinical and Epic training.

Position Summary

• Work in collaboration with a skilled care team that includes dedicated providers, benefits specialists, front desk receptionists, behavioral health consultants and others to provide quality health services and resources to meet our patients’ needs.
• Assist providers with onsite procedures.
• Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and administer medications/vaccines directly to patients.
• Assist patients by responding to questions, returning calls, scheduling appointments and reviewing medical records.
• Continue to grow your knowledge base through extensive clinical training and technical training with Epic, one of the leading Electronic Medical Record Systems globally.

Requirements

• HighSchool diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accreditedprogram
• CPR/Basic Life Support Certification
• Minimum of one (1) year experience or clinical externship
