Job summary

Access Community Health Network in Chicago, IL is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a collaborative care team and support providers with on-site procedures, vital signs, phlebotomy, and vaccines.

This role requires a Medical Assistant diploma, high school, CPR/BLS, EMR proficiency (Epic), and the ability to work some evenings and Saturdays; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program.
• CPR/Basic Life Support Certification.
• Minimum of one year experience or clinical externship.
• Basic proficiency with EMR (Epic preferred).
• Ability to work some evenings and Saturdays.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Work with a care team to provide health services and resources.
• Assist providers with onsite procedures.
• Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and administer vaccines.
• Assist patients with questions, calls, appointments, and records.
• Grow knowledge through clinical and Epic EMR training.

Position Summary

• Work in collaboration with a skilled care team that includes dedicated providers, benefits specialists, front desk receptionists, behavioral health consultants and others to provide quality health services and resources to meet our patients’ needs.
• Assist providers with onsite procedures.
• Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and administer medications/vaccines directly to patients.
• Assist patients by responding to questions, returning calls, scheduling appointments and reviewing medical records.
• Continue to grow your knowledge base through extensive clinical training and technical training with Epic, one of the leading Electronic Medical Record Systems globally.
