Job summary

Access Community Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Chicago-area team. You will support a multidisciplinary care team, assist with onsite procedures, and manage vital signs, phlebotomy, and vaccine administration.

The role emphasizes strong patient communication and proficiency in our Epic EMR system. The position requires a Medical Assistant diploma, CPR/BLS, and bilingual English/Spanish abilities, with some evening and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program is required.
• CPR/BLS certification is required or in progress.
• At least one year of clinical experience or externship is preferred.
• Proficiency with EMR systems, especially Epic, is preferred.
• Ability to work some evenings and Saturdays.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a care team to provide quality health services.
• Assist providers with onsite procedures and patient care.
• Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy, and administer vaccines as needed.
• Respond to patient questions, schedule appointments, and review medical records.
• Participate in Epic EMR training to support care delivery.

Position Summary

• Work in collaboration with a skilled care team that includes dedicated providers, benefits specialists, front desk receptionists, behavioral health consultants and others to provide quality health services and resources to meet our patients’ needs.
• Assist providers with onsite procedures.
• Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and administer medications/vaccines directly to patients.
• Assist patients by responding to questions, returning calls, scheduling appointments and reviewing medical records.
• Continue to grow your knowledge base through extensive clinical training and technical training with Epic, one of the leading Electronic Medical Record Systems globally.

Requirements

• HighSchool diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accreditedprogram

• Minimum of one (1) year experience or clinical externship
