Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's Immanuel Campus in Omaha is seeking a Medical Assistant/Certified Medical Assistant (MA/CMA) to deliver compassionate care within the Neurology Clinic. You will collect vitals, review medications, prepare specimens, and assist with meds and vaccines while supporting an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ABHES or CAAHEP MA program.
• Current CMA/RMA/NCMA certification or equivalent.
• Completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or equivalent.
• BLS from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform general patient care per clinic workflows.
• Greet patients, record vitals, review allergies and meds.
• Collect specimens for lab analysis.
• Prepare and provide medications or vaccines.
• Assume other duties within scope as assigned.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Assistant / Certified Medical Assistant (MA/CMA) working at our Immanuel Campus in the Neurology Clinic off of 72nd & Sorenson Pkwy, you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery. Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care and make critical assessments! You'll collaborate seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team, contributing to a dynamic environment focused on optimal patient outcomes. To thrive in this vital role, you will possess keen assessment skills, acute critical thinking, and a patient-first mindset, driven by a profound enthusiasm to help others.

Expectations:

• Performs general patient care following established clinic workflows.
• Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider by obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing drug allergies and current medications, completing applicable screening questionnaires and documenting reasons for visit.
• Collects and prepares ordered specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Prepares and provides ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients.
• Performs other duties within scope of role as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP)
• Current/valid nationally recognized certification, registration or recognition for medical assistants (AAMA/CMA, RMA, NCMA)
• Successfully completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
